Digital X-Rays
Digital X-ray machines are growing in popularity due to the number of benefits that they provide. Not only do they give more accurate and detailed X-ray imagery, but they are also more environmentally friendly than their traditional counterparts, as the images are stored on computers; thus reducing the amount of paper used. Furthermore, they reduce the amount of radiation that a patient is exposed to and they are more efficient and quicker to use due to the computer technology that is used. Instead of using the traditional film as in the past, a digital X-ray machine utilises an electric pad, which sends the images directly to the computer.
Laser Technology
The benefits of using laser technology over traditional methods are numerous. Not only do they reduce treatment time and discomfort, as well as improving accuracy, they also result in improved healing times and reduced risk of infection. This technology can be used for a range of dental problems.
Intraoral Photography
Intraoral photography involves taking several photographs of a patient's teeth and gums, in order to show their current condition. It is of great benefit as it enables dentists to show a patient their specific problem areas and together, work to rectify the issues.
DVD Glasses
DVD glasses enable patients to watch films during long appointments. They help to keep the patient entertained, and can also be of great benefit with nervous or anxious patients.
