Frequently asked questions

How often should I attend for a check-up and hygienist appointment?

This varies from person to person but on average we recommend every 6 months. Clients may be asked to visit the hygienist more often when taking into consideration factors such as medical health, oral hygiene and periodontal/gum disease.

Are dental x-rays safe?

We are exposed to radiation on a daily basis from appliances around our home, sunlight, and during that flight to your holiday destination.

When x-rays are taken you are exposed to radiation. Fortunately, the dose of radiation you are exposed to is extremely small. We use the latest digital x-ray equipment, which helps to limits the dose of radiation, as much as possible.

Do you have parking available?

Yes, at the rear of the building. You can access the car park via the lane which runs along the side of number 2 Suffolk Road. We have 4 clearly labelled car parking spaces available.

What are my payment options?

We offer finance with an external company for treatment plans over £500.00. We are able to offer 0% interest finance over 12 months or 9.9% interest bearing finance over 24, 36 or 48 months. There is eligibility criteria you must meet in order to apply for the finance.

For larger treatment plans such as implants or orthodontics, the payment is broken down into stages throughout the course of treatment.

Alternatively, if you pay upfront you can receive a 5% discount (valid on treatment plans over £1000.00 only).

Do you have a dental plan?

Yes, our dental plan is with Agilio. The dental plan is £20.97 per month for adults and includes two check-ups with the dentist, two visits with the hygienist, x-rays are included and you also receive discounted treatment. Unlike other dental plans such as Denplan, you do not need to be dentally fit before you can join the plan.

We also have a plan available for children under 18 years old.

What payments do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards (excluding American Express), cash, cheques and bank transfers as forms of payment.

How quickly can I be seen?

We keep spaces for members of our dental plan daily for emergencies. Your problem will be assessed by reception and an appropriate appointment booked. We will endeavour to see anyone in pain the same day.

If you are calling to make you first appointment with us for either a consultation or new patient check-up, we would normally be able to see you within 2 weeks (dependent on availability).

Are you taking on NHS patients?

We are independent of the NHS and we have our own maintenance plan, which helps spread the cost of your dental health checks and hygienist visits over 12 months.

There is a national shortage of NHS dental practices taking on clients, so you may find it more difficult to find one at this time.
