Wrinkle Reduction
Botulinum Toxin type A (also known as BOTOX) is a purified form of a naturally occurring protein which temporarily prevents muscles in the treated area from contracting and creating wrinkles. If you have lines or wrinkles which you can see when your face is at rest, dermal fillers may be a more appropriate choice.
The most commonly treated areas are the crow’s feet (around the eyes), frown lines and forehead lines when raising eyebrows. The same product is also an effective way of preventing excessive under arm sweating.
Treatment involves a small number of injections with a small needle, that do not require any anaesthetics and it takes only minutes to carry out.
The effects may be seen within 48 to 72 hours, although it takes up to two weeks for the full result to appear. Although it may vary from person to person, the results last around 3 months. Some studies have even shown that with repeated treatment, the interval between injections becomes longer. A review appointment is included in the treatment fee to assess the results and add more if necessary.
